Physical Regions of Jammu & Kashmir are divided into Six Regions :-

1. Outer Plains

2. Shiwaliks

3. Middle Himalayas (Lesser Himalayas)

4. Valley of Kashmir

5. Greater Himalayas (Inner Himalayas)

6. Ladakh Plateau

 

 

Total Geographical Area of Jammu and Kashmir = 222236 Sq. Km

 

• Indian Administrative Kashmir = 101387 Sq. Km (45.6 % Area)
• UT of Jammu and Kashmir = 42241 Sq. Km
•      Kashmir = 15948 Sq. Km
•      Jammu  = 26293 Sq. Km
•       UT of Ladakh = 59146 Sq. Km

 

• Pakistan occupied Kashmir = 78114 Sq. Km (35.1 % Area)

 

• China occupied Kashmir = 42735 Sq. km (19.2 % Area)

 

•      Shaksgam Valley = 5180 Sq. Km

 

•       Aksai Chin (Ladakh) = 37555 Sq. Km
