Latest Weather Forecast by MeT Department Upto Eid Day

 

Weatherman on Tuesday forecast rain and thunderstorm at scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir till 12 May and “mainly dry weather” for the next three days.

“Rain and thunderstorm are most likely to occur at scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir today and tomorrow (May 12). Thereafter, expect mainly dry weather for subsequent 3 days,” an official of the local meteorological department said. “There’s no forecast of any major rainfall this week,” he said.

Regarding Ladakh, he said mainly dry weather is most likely for the next one week. However, he said light rain or snow may occur at isolated places on higher reaches.

 

 

Meanwhile, the official said that Srinagar received 9.1mm of rainfall during the last 24 hours till 8:30 am. The summer capital of J-K recorded a low of 12.6°C against 10.7°C on the previous night which is 2.0°C above normal for this time of the season, he said.

Qazigund recorded a low of 10.8°C which was above normal by 1.6°C in the gateway town of Kashmir which received 15.2mm of rain during the time, the official said.

 

 

 

Pahalgam, the famous tourist resort in South Kashmir, recorded a low of 8.5°C against normal of 5.1°C while it had rainfall of 2.6mm during the time.

 

 

 

Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a low of 10.3°C against normal of 9.3°C while it had 12.2mm of rainfall, the official said.

Kupwara received 2.6mm of rain and recorded a low of 10.5°C against 9.6°C normal for this time of the season in north Kashmir district, the official said.

 

 

Gulmarg, the world-famous skiing resort in the Baramulla district of north Kashmir, recorded a low of 5.0°C against normal of 5.5°C for this time of the year while it has 4.2mm of rain in the last 24 hours during the time, the official said. (GNS)
