J&K Govt mulls to revise textbook curriculum: Text books to have stories of local real heroes
Srinagar, : The government is mulling to bring revision in the curriculum of different classes by including the stories of local real heroes in the textbooks for the new generation.
The official documents available with the new agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) states that the administration has said that it will bring out the revision in the syllabi of different classes in schools of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Bring out the revision in the curriculum of the different classes with emphasis on including stories of real heroes of Jammu and Kashmir in the textbooks to make the new generation aware about their life history and imbibe the rich value system of these local prominent personalities in their life.” it reads.
The documents reveal that the concerned officials of School Education Department and Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) were asked to submit the report by the end of August.
The documents further reveal that the government directed the directors of Schools Education Department of both Jammu and Kashmir regions and project director of Samagra Shiksha to focus on improving the literacy rate and dropout rates among the students.
“Enhanced focus on bridging social and gender gaps in School Education and ensure the equity and inclusion at all levels to improve the literacy rate and decrease the dropout rate,” the documents reveal—(KNO)
