Altaf Bukhari Calls for Fair Employment Policies as 5.5 Lakh Apply for 4,000 Constable Posts

Altaf Bukhari Calls for Fair Employment Policies as 5.5 Lakh Apply for 4,000 Constable Posts

Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari has expressed concern over the severe unemployment crisis in Jammu and Kashmir, with over 5.5 lakh candidates competing for just 4,000 constable positions in the upcoming recruitment exam scheduled for December 1, as reported by KNS.

Highlighting the dire situation, Bukhari noted the “alarming disparity between the large pool of applicants and the limited opportunities available,” particularly for candidates outside reservation categories who face added challenges in securing government jobs.

He called for urgent reforms in employment generation and emphasized the need for a “fair and inclusive reservation policy” to provide equal opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their social, regional, or religious backgrounds.

Bukhari urged leaders to set aside political and ideological differences to focus on justice for the youth, who are grappling with rising unemployment in the region.

Extending his best wishes to all candidates appearing for the constable exam, Bukhari encouraged them to remain hopeful and determined despite the fierce competition.

“The situation is disheartening and calls for immediate intervention to address the aspirations of the younger generation,” Bukhari remarked.
